Welcome to the Cleveland-Richardson Park Master Planning Project!
The City of Renton Parks and Recreation Department is excited to begin the planning process for a future 24-acre park in southwest Renton. We invite you to get involved as we create a vision for this new public space.
About the Project
The master planning process guides the park's development. The project team will evaluate the site's unique features, identify programming needs and propose design elements. Our goal is to balance conservation of natural and historic resources with new recreation opportunities to provide a new park that meets our community's need.
Why This Matters
As Renton grows to nearly 110,000 residents, access to green spaces in all parts of the City becomes more important. This new park will help fill gaps in park access, especially in the Talbot neighborhood, offering recreation opportunities and supporting health and wellness for our community.
Project Overview
Location: The park is located in the Talbot Planning Area, near residential neighborhoods and essential services, including a major healthcare corridor surrounding Valley Medical Center.
Natural Features: The site includes rolling pastures, dense forests, Springbrook Creek, wetlands, and other natural areas. Renton Parks will be able to conserve this natural space while building new recreation opportunities.
Community Engagement: We are committed to involving our community in this process. Your input will help shape the park’s design and features to meet the needs of our diverse residents.
Get Involved
We want to hear from you! Stay tuned for opportunities to share your ideas and help shape a park that reflects our community’s needs and values. This page will be updated with information on future public meetings, surveys, and other ways to participate. Please use the "SUBSCRIBE" button to stay updated.

We’re working on a plan for the future Cleveland-Richardson Park, and we want your input to make it the best it can be! The project will involve three main stages:
Phase 1: Listening & Learning (Now – Spring 2025) We’ll introduce the project and hear your thoughts, hopes, and concerns for the park.
Phase 2: Exploring Ideas (Summer 2025) We’ll share some design ideas based on what we’ve heard so far, and you’ll have a chance to give feedback and help shape the park’s direction.
Phase 3: Confirming the Vision (Late Summer – Fall 2025) We’ll present a recommended park design that reflects the community input gathered throughout the process—and check in to see if we got it right.
