Welcome to the Cleveland-Richardson Park Master Planning Project!

The City of Renton Parks and Recreation Department is planning a future 24-acre park in south Renton—and we’re excited to continue this journey with you. Thank you to everyone who shared their hopes, concerns, ideas, and design feedback during the first phase of community engagement. We’re now in Phase 3 of the project, where we’ll finalize the vision for the park.

Where We Are Now

Phase 3 Confirming the Vision is underway! We’re currently developing a recommended park design, along with a master planning report that will outline the process so far and dive into important details like cost, funding, and phasing. At this stage, we’ve gathered valuable insights from the community through surveys, feedback boards, public meetings, and pop-up events. This input, along with the site opportunities and constraints identified during the assessment phase, will inform the recommended design. You can find additional information in the sidebar of this website.

About the Project
This master planning effort will guide how the park is developed. The project team is working to evaluate the site’s natural assets, identify programming needs, and propose thoughtful design elements. The goal is to balance conservation of natural resources with new recreation opportunities—creating a park that meets our community’s needs now and into the future.

Why This Matters
As Renton grows to nearly 110,000 residents, access to green space becomes even more essential. This new park will help close gaps in park access—especially in the Talbot neighborhood—while offering places to play, connect, and support community health and well-being.

Stay Involved

We’re in the final phase of the master plan design, and we still want to make sure the park reflects the community’s vision. Use the “SUBSCRIBE” button below to stay updated as we finalize the plan and move forward with the detailed design development process.
