Maplewood Playground Renovation Project

It's time to move forward with Maplewood Park’s new playground!

We appreciate the community’s patience while City staff coordinated with utility providers with facilities onsite, secured additional funding to expand the playbox and address ADA access issues, and reviewed design proposals from playground vendors.

Now, we need your input again! Your feedback on the playground design proposals will help City staff select the final design and vendor—bringing us one step closer to construction beginning in late summer or early fall.

Here’s what’s coming:

• New playground equipment: The updated play area will feature state-of-the-art equipment designed to spark creativity, movement, and connection among children. You can see all of the detailed design proposals we received from playground vendors HERE and provide feedback on these designs through the survey below.

• Expanded playbox: The play area is getting bigger to include more play variety and ensure compliance with updated safety requirements.

• Improved accessibility and comfort: We'll be addressing an ADA access issue at this park through a new pathway connection to the ballfield. We’re also planning to increase shade through tree plantings.
